Growing In Christ

Our sole purpose as a church is to help people grow closer to Jesus Christ.

There is that of God in every person, we want to help you grow your relationship with Jesus.

We believe that every person can grow and mature in their relationship

with Him by focusing on FOUR important building blocks of faith:

Worship

"Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; and give Him praise." Let us adore Him, let our hearts be filled with gratitude for it is, Christ the Lord who died for our sins and rose from the grave giving each believer eternal life. The Lord is our God and we are the people of His pasture, the flock under His care. (Psalm 95:6-7) Each week we gather to worship the Lord, to sing, pray, hear the scriptures proclaimed and commune with God. Worship is the heart responding to the Lord's call to a balanced life.

Fellowship

"Let us not give up meeting together...but let us encourage one another..." (Hebrews 10:25) To grow closer to God, we need the company and friendship of other believers. It is good to know other believers and enjoy each other's company. By being around Christians, we are encouraged and strengthened in our spiritual journey. We have all sorts of social gatherings in an effort to create Christian community and friendships."

Discipleship

"Let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity." (Hebrews 6.1) The Christian walk requires the study of God's word and spiritual direction. We encourage personal, at-home Bible reading, study and prayer. However, we know that a person can only grow so much on their own. Spiritual direction happens best in groups.

Service

Christ called us to "love one another" (John 13.34-35) in Christian service. At Archdale Friends, we try to create as many avenues as possible for service to God's Kingdom. There are ministries WITHIN our church, such as Quaker Men, Missions Committee, Ministry & Counsel (church elders) AND ministries we support OUTSIDE our congregation such as C.O.A.T., Open Door Ministry, Communities in Schools and various can food/school supply drives.
